Year End Information

Sage has announced that the Q1 2011 Tax Table Update (TTU) and Interim Release Download (IRD) should be available after December 17, 2010. The TTU will be updated each week with adjustments  for late-breaking changes. In line with Sage’s practice of releasing comprehensive updates, all of the program changes in the IRD will be included in Sage ERP MAS 90 and 200 v4.40 Product Update 4 and Sage ERP MAS 90 and 200 v4.30 Service Update 21 which are expected to be available the week of December 27, 2010. If you install PU4 or SU21 instead of the IRD, you will still need to download and install the Q1 2011 Tax Table Update before processing your first payroll for 2011.

This information and more detail will be addressed during the next Sage MAS 90/200 User Group meeting on Thursday, December 9 from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. More details will follow, but you can register for the meeting now.

Hightower, Inc. Issues Notice Regarding MAS 90 and 200 Service Update 18

Hightower, Inc., publisher of MAS 90 and MAS 200 enhancements including Point of Sale Professional and Time & Billing Professional, have issued a notice regarding the recently issued MAS 90 and 200 service update from Sage. The notice (and case for maintaining a reliable back up) is included below:

Sage Software has temporarily removed Product Update 18 until a critical issue is resolved. Some issues we have found include:

  • Time and Billing Professional – Printing Issues
  • Point of Sale Professional – Credit card processing In Company Maintenance, Credit Card Processing gets changed to “None” and cannot be changed back.

Sage technicians have tried everything in their power to recover credit card data but were unable to. Their recommendation for now is to restore from back up.

The issues seem to be prevalent only on MAS 90/200 systems that have e-Business Manager and Credit Card Processing.

Service Update 4.30.0.14 Re-released

One short week after touting Sage’s new schedule for releasing service updates, Sage has released a new service update. Confusingly enough (and perhaps to maintain their schedule), the latest release is titled Service Update 14 for Sage MAS 90 and 200 4.30 (4.30.0.14) released 9/29/09 (updated 10/02/09).
The reason for the updated service update is to resolve a Paperless Office issue the September 29 release was causing in some installation. We recommend implementing service updates prior to upgrading, following an upgrade or to resolve an issue the service update is designed to resolve. If you did install the September 29 release, you probably noticed that your business framework documents were printing as blanks in Paperless Office. It’s time to install the new update.
