The menus and tasks in MAS 90 and MAS 200 are a part of the launcher. It is where you start your tasks and we you open MAS 90 or MAS 200, it looks the same for every user, but different users have different jobs and need access to differnet items.
Without the expense of a new license, you can modify your launcher to give you quick access to the items you use most often saving your time and frustration of clicking though menus to launch a task.
On July 23 we are hosting an in-class training session covering the Top 10 ways to custom your launcher. On July 29 we will offer the class online. Each session is only $50 per person and seating is limited so send an email now to reserve your seat.
How often do you refer to copies of your Accounts Payable invoices? If you are like most users, the answer is all the time and each time you need to see a copy of the invoice, you have to go to your paper files.
Now, by using the scripting features available for MAS 90 and MAS 200, a link can be created between your Accounts Payable Invoice Inquiry screen and scanned copies of your invoices. From your desk, just open your inquiry screen, look up the invoice and click to see the invoice.
The scripting features can be creatively used in several different ways, so if you have any questions, just let us know.
While I am writing a new class to show users how to customize their MAS 90 and MAS 200 user interface, I am reminded of other customization tools, including a Menu Maintenance utility that allows users to maintain menu items inside each module by sorting and renaming different tasks.
This utility won’t be included in the new class because it makes global changes, they affect all users, but the steps are truly simple. First, select File then Run from the toolbar. In the Run Program window, type SY_MENU_UI and click OK.
Use the + and – to expand the menus.
Double-click the menu item to change the name. In this example, I have changed Customer Maintenance to Client Maintenance. We have tried to make the distinction before.
Your changes will show in both the Detail and Tree Views.
It’s a nice utility, but remember to use it wisely: any changes you make will apply to all users.
